The machine. Two wheels. No motor. Two panniers in the front. Handlebar bag with transparent slip for road map. Helmet with rearview mirror. Two rear panniers. Stacked on the back are a spare bag, flattened backpack, tent, spare tire, and sleeping bag. The bike almost maintains a god-like status. It is the most important piece for everything to go right. And it holds everything. It is the mobile home.
